Development Indicators				Concrete wall with drilled holes				Spring 2004
The site of the MTA Hudson Yards is located at the Hudson River terminus of the 34th Street East-West axis in Manhattan. Subway trains are parked here during off-time. The New York City Department of Urban Planning foresees high-density development of various functions atop the yards site as early as 2009. A concrete wall along 11th Avenue currently blocks any street level view of the yards. Beginning in 2005, holes are periodically drilled into the concrete, in an arrangement relating to on the subway tracks below. The more holes are drilled into the wall, the more transparent it becomes, offering a temporary view of the Hudson Yards—soon to disappear beneath the planned development.
